In 2015, Gibson sub-brand Epiphone announced a new Les Paul Signature Edition, designed by Björn Gelotte, guitarist for the legendary Swedish metal band “In Flames”. Our task: Make professional guitar players want the new Les Paul Signature Edition more than any other guitar. Promote the Epiphone, Gibson and Les Paul brand image as the best choice for professionals. |
философия | We took all guitar players by their professional pride, asking them the provocative question: Do you deserve a Les Paul? To prove they do, they had to play a very difficult solo, written by Björn Gelotte himself. To measure the precision of their performance, we used the Shazam algorithm and data base like never before: As a musical judge. |
Результат | During the promotion period, countless guitar players tried to master the solo. More than 250 passed the Skill Check. One lucky pro got the new Les Paul for free – and the rest of the first batch was sold out, before it was even in stores. The 2015 Les Paul Signature Edition is now at the top of every guitar player’s wish list. |
