Subaru and Carmichael Lynch launched a new commercial announcing a commitment to replant 500,000 new trees in areas recently devastated by California wildfires.
In the new 60-second spot, devastating and dramatic footage of flames engulfing the West Coast shot by photojournalist Stuart Palley portray the chaos of the ecological catastrophe, and the associated dangers of documenting them. Palley, a Southern California native and a trained wildland firefighter, is seen driving and stepping out of his Subaru as the landscape around him is entirely ablaze.
The visuals then cut to a Subaru Forester driving in the aftermath, announcing the Subaru Forester Re-Foresting Project initiative, which will use a fleet of Foresters to plant 125,000 trees per year through 2023. The project is kicking off this year through the broader Subaru Love Promise, a partnership between the automaker and the National Forest Foundation to help replant 500,000 new trees in the areas recently devastated by California wildfires.
