Presented by The International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences and hailed as the "Oscars of the Internet" by worldwide media, The Webby Awards are the preeminent honors for Web sites. However, in the spirit of the medium, the Webbys abandon the stale parts of old showcards and invent new ones; acceptance speeches are limited to 5 words, for example, and the entire ceremony comes in under 2 hours. It's a unique ovation for the people who press the Internet envelope. In each category there are 2 awards given: The Webby Award and The People's Voice Award. Judges from The International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences decide on the winners of The Webby Awards. Popular vote by the online community determines the winners of The People's Voice Awards.
