The Art Directors Club of Europe (ADCE) is looking to create unexpected connections at the 3rd European Creativity Festival, with a new concept titled: The Hybridscape, where unexpected connections are made.

Now in its third edition, the European Creativity Festival brings together industry talent of all nationalities and ages, for three days of inspirational conferences, talks, awards, hack-a-thons and workshops.

Headlining the festival in 2016 is an exciting series of 1-on-1 ‘Connections’, pairing together entrepreneurs, innovators and disruptors from all kinds of industries, to discuss the forces shaping society.

Patrizia Boglione, Strategic Creative Director at Angelini Design and Board Member of ADCE, explains more about the concept: "We want to feed the future through creative hybridisation. Society and technology are in transition, so how can we fuel this in a creative way? That's the answer we want to find out during our three days of conferences, workshops and networking at this year’s festival."

To open the festival, Ideas for Change founder Javi Creus will deliver a keynote presentation on Collaboration & Open Models in Creative Businesses. Jamshid Alamuti, Managing Director at Berlin School of Creative Leadership, will moderate each ‘Connection’. Activist and designer, Aral Balkan, will close the ‘Connections’ with an incisive look at the possibilities lying ahead in the marriage of design and technology.

Workshops and Hacks

Day 2 at the European Creativity Festival is dedicated to hands-on learning and showcasing some of the most exciting talent from across Europe, with attendees encouraged to go outside their comfort zone by choosing one of five alternative creative workshops.

Attendees can choose to explore the connection between the creative industry and dance choreography with Quim Bigas, build service design solutions alongside award-winning studio Fjord, or check out the latest innovation in stereoscopic content creation with Outliers Collective.

For those looking for something truly unique, Virginie Gailing’s workshop Re.Designing Death asks how we can use creativity to open up one of life’s most challenging conversations, while IAAC offers a hands-on, technological experience of bring typography to life in 3D.

Meanwhile at the ‘Pirates’ Hackathon, teams of designers and engineers will be competing for the opportunity win a one-week residency at Rome’s start-up district and venture fund Pi Campus. Entrants will be challenged to successfully bring together tech and design, as they develop an original start-up idea, before presenting it to a panel of investors, innovators and entrepreneurs.
