An Audi audio experiment

You may be familiar David Ogilvy’s famous line of copy: “At 60 miles an hour the loudest noise in this new Rolls-Royce comes from the electric clock.” Ogilvy wrote those words in 1957, but more than 60 years later quietness is still a selling point for quality cars.
This stunt – not from Ogilvy, but from the Hungarian agency Café – demonstrates the noise-free qualities of the Audi A8 by recording a radio spot inside the car itself as it prowls the streets. The finished spot was aired without any post-production wizardry, so listeners could hear for themselves just how quiet it is within the Audi A8 cocoon.
