Greenpeace Gets the Oxygen of Publicity

Moscow should change its name to “Mos-cough”, as an alarming nine out of ten of its inhabitants have suffered from problems related to air pollution. And thanks to an innovative bus shelter installation from Greenpeace, they can now find out exactly how polluted their neighbourhood is. People waiting for their ride can touch different areas of the city on an interactive map. When they hit one that’s seriously polluted, airplane-style oxygen masks drop from the shelter roof. After taking a gulp of fresh air, they’re asked to fill in a form giving them access to more information about air pollution and the preventative measures they can take. Then they can step on the bus to a – hopefully – less smoggy spot.
