Havas CX helia, the customer engagement agency at the heart of the Havas CX network, has completed a major refurbishment and expansion of its Cirencester office. The £1m project, which has taken five months to complete, increases the agency’s footprint by 30% and has been designed around post-pandemic hybrid working practices – transforming the office into a ‘destination’ space with collaboration at its heart.

The 2575m2 office – which was originally purpose-built to house pioneering direct marketing agency Brann, an early precursor of Havas CX helia, following its formation in 1967 – has undergone a thorough modernisation, designed and built by workplace architecture specialist Loop Interiors.

Designed around a central hub – which features a large ‘bleachers’-style seating space for events, presentations, and meetings – the refurb sees the addition of more collaborative and ‘soft’ spaces as well as a new reception, kitchen/café, chill-out space, library, and board/pitch room, four new meeting rooms, new bathrooms and showers, and additional hotdesking locations and individual working pods. The new space – which is fully owned by Havas and houses around 130 of its people – is spread across three floors and connected by a large feature staircase.

Its open plan warehouse aesthetic was inspired and influenced by the building’s original use as the printing, finishing and fulfilment facility for Brann – the first iteration of the agency that would become Havas CX helia more than half a century later.

The office doubles as an ever-evolving creative inspiration and exhibition space – with its walls dedicated not to Havas’ own projects, but to showcasing work from up-and-coming creative talent. These exhibitions will be created through partnerships with companies including B&A Reps, Nexus Studios, and, initially, Studio Pi – the award-winning photography and illustration agency that promotes equality and celebrates diverse and minority talent.

David MacMillan, Co-President and Managing Director of Havas CX helia, says: “While flexible working is long-established at Havas – and our post-pandemic approach remains three days a week in the office, and two elsewhere – I believe we are more than the sum of our parts and produce our best work when we come together. For this reason, we’ve invested heavily in our workspace to create the best possible collaborative environment and creative culture for our teams and for our clients.

“The UK is bigger than London – and we wanted to create the best office outside of the capital to continue to attract an unfair share of first-class talent. If you fancy joining us in our beautiful Cotswolds home, give me a call.”

Havas CX helia – which is larger than it was before the pandemic – also boasts an office within Havas’ King’s Cross Village. Its clients include some of the largest consumer-facing brands in the UK, including Volkswagen Group UK, Lloyds Banking Group, Compare The Market, Diageo, Starbucks, Great Western Railway and The Royal British Legion.
