Thinkingbox Adds Scott Hiers and Tim Blount to LA Creative Team

Global creative collective Thinkingbox has announced the hire of Scott Hiers and Tim Blount as Creative Directors, adding to its Los Angeles team.

As part of the shop’s ongoing strategy to bring together like-minded and skilled artisans, grow its presence in Los Angeles and continue to add to the company’s award-winning digital capabilities, Hiers and Blount have been appointed to bring a new layer of storytelling to Thinkingbox with their creative and design expertise.

Joining from Stink Studios Los Angeles where he served as Creative Director, Blount brings a plethora of client experience ranging from WeTransfer, Strava, Facebook, Netflix, and YouTube (TV & Music) in multiple disciplines, including experiential, digital, and content. Previously, he held the role of Creative Director at R/GA and Crispin Porter & Bogusky. He has a degree in communications from Boston University.

"I’m excited to have access to Thinkingbox’s outstanding group of creatives, technologists, and producers to bring some awesome, boundary-pushing work to life. I hope to help grow the Los Angeles team into a creative powerhouse and help lead the broader Thinkingbox collective to an exciting new chapter," said Blount.

Coming from TBWA\Chiat\Day, where he was Design Director, Hiers will serve as a leader in experiential, digital, and content production with his global brand experience crafting work for McDonald’s, Disney, Robinhood, Adidas, and Google. Previously, he held creative roles with Left Field Labs, North Kingdom Design & Communications, and HAUS Los Angeles. Hiers attended Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD).

"I hope to help foster an environment around me that promotes the creation of better and bigger work. I'm already learning a lot from Thinkingbox CCO and CEO about the vision and direction of the company, and I hope to spread those ideals while adding a bit of my spice," said Hiers.

“Tim's a proven talent in copywriting and concept work, and the fact that he started as an Art Director means he has a great vision for the big picture. His digital work is thought-provoking; and, more importantly, culturally relevant. It doesn't hurt that his ideas consistently make me laugh, think deeply, and occasionally make me want to punch him in the face,” said Michael Kern, Chief Creative Officer, Thinkingbox. “Scott is a proven creative director with a pedigree whose passion is infectious. His talent will have a profound impact on creative thinking and design execution for both brand and digital. I am always on the lookout for designers who understand craft, and his detail-oriented focus is truly inspiring. The team could not be more excited,” he continued.
