Joseph a. Adesunloye is an award winning British-Nigerian Film director & Screenwriter. He graduated with a Masters of Arts in English Literature and Film Studies from the University of Aberdeen.

He was nominated for the BFI IWC Schaffhausen Filmmakers Bursary Award at the 60th BFI London Film Festival for his debut feature film White Colour Black. The following year Joseph was longlisted ‘Best Debut Screenwriter’ for the prestigious BIFAs (British Independent Film Awards) where White Colour Black was up for a total of two awards.

He was also winner of the Best International Feature, Best Narrative Feature &
Oscar Micheaux Award for directing at the Baltimore International
Black Film Festival in 2017.

Like his previous short Beyond Plain Sight, his latest short film 46 premiered at the Raindance Film Festival, and was nominated Best UK Short. 46 was also nominated for the IRIS Prize in 2018.

In 2017 he shot the teaser for the UN backed documentary The Great Green Wall across the Sahel.

His latest feature film is FACES starring Terry Pheto (Tsotsi, A United Kingdom) which had its world premier at the Durban International Film Festival in 2018 and won Best Feature Film at the Durban LGBT Film Festival subsequently.

He recently short a futuristic dystopian short film 2063 in Zimbabwe & Botswana, starring Tswana actor Donald Molosi (A United Kingdom) & South African actor Thabo Rametsi (Kalushi)
