The OBIE Award is outdoor advertising’s greatest honor and rightly so. It recognizes excellence in the medium some call the most difficult to create for. The OBIE is great outdoor, the benchmark by which all creative is measured, the visual guideline to emulate.

The OBIE Awards are one of the oldest and most prestigious honors for creative excellence in advertising. The OBIE name is derived from the ancient Egyptian Obelisk, a tall stone structure that was used to publicize laws and treaties thousands of years ago. Many historians consider the obelisk as the first true form of advertising.  OAAA takes its mission as educators seriously in this arena, providing not simply an annual contest but year round advice and information about outdoor creative excellence.
