Walter Thompson Chicago, “Find Something More in Illinois” showcases the emotional relationships formed between different sets of travelers on four unique trips across the state. As their adventures unfold, Illinois’ picturesque attractions become the perfect backdrop to reveal why we travel to begin with — not only to see the sites, but also to build memories, stories and deeper connections with the people who mean the most to us.
“Find Something More in Illinois” launched Tuesday with a rollout in 17 U.S. markets as well as national cable. Along with TV and online channels, a mobile push will round out the campaign. A hub on the enjoyillinois.com website will also be available for viewers who want to learn more about the destinations shown in the commercials, and how to plan their next trip to see it for themselves. J. Walter Thompson Chicago’s ECD Dan Bruce said of the campaign, “Our goal was to tell the story of the experiential and emotional benefits of traveling throughout the state of Illinois. It’s a touching campaign that complements the more light-hearted adventures of MiniAbe, who serves as a great ambassador for the state of Illinois, and we were thrilled to partner with the Illinois Office of Tourism to bring it to life.” The Illinois Office of Tourism’s mission is to manage industry efforts that result in sustainable and significant economic and quality-of-life benefits for Illinois residents. Achieving record visitor levels of 105.7 million in 2013, spending topped $34.5 billion in Illinois and directly supported 301,100 jobs. -
