Adam Stevens

Matt worked in every area of filmmaking there is, and by the age of 21 was production designing and art directing major New Zealand feature films. Matt continued as a production designer on feature films and television commercials for the next 9 years working in nearly every country in the world. At the age of 30, Matt started directing and within one year was nominated as one of the top 10 new directors in the world at the 1995 Cannes new directors show case. Since then Matt has gone on to win awards at many of the major advertising ceremonies including D&AD, Axis, ATV, London International, Cannes, Loewe, and many others. Matt Murphy is a director in the true sense of the word. Having lived with film all his life he has a very deep understanding of the power and the potential of motion picture storytelling. Matt is also highly awarded visual effects director with a vast understanding of post production and all its possibilities, allowing him to always maintain a focus for the ‘big picture’ from script development through casting, locations, filming, editing special effects to the final film.

Joel Kefali
Joel Kefali is an acclaimed filmmaker and designer known for finding magic in the mundane. He has directed iconic music videos for global superstars Lorde, Katy Perry, LCD Soundsystem and Alicia Keys; and worked with major international brands including Lexus, Tiger Beer, Nissan, Steinlager, Australian Defence Force and even left his mark on the Got Milk campaign with Goodby Silverstein & Partners. Joel originally aspired to be a furniture designer and completed a Bachelor of Design with honours. However, his passion for design saw him branch out his degree with a major in Painting and minor in Animation and Editing. It was here he developed a versatility that would colour the rest of his career. In 2007, he founded the highly successful creative studio, Special Problems. Together with his directing partner, they created an impressive portfolio of album artwork, fashion films, brand design and highly distinctive music videos that saw them win awards and accolades from big names in music such as Kanye West. Special Problem’s success led to directing commercials for global brands, including technology giant HP, and short film ‘Echoes’, commissioned by The Weinstein Company to screen at the Cannes Film Festival. In 2013, Joel decided to pursue an independent directing career and went on to achieve his greatest successes to date. He was entrusted with Lorde’s breakthrough video for the US #1 hit ‘Royals’, which won Best Rock Video at the MTV VMAs and Best International Music Video at the MMVAs. It put him on the map and before long Katy Perry was knocking on his door to direct the music video for her hit song ‘This Is How We Do’. The New Zealand native still works across a variety of formats and styles, from choreography to bold understated, cinematic realism and everything in between. Whether it’s music videos or commercials, Joel’s philosophy is simple: “Building brands, crafting a unique and compelling way for them to communicate to the world. It doesn't matter whether that's working with Lorde, Katy Perry or Hewlett Packard – it's high stakes for all of them. They've got something to say and my job is to help them say it in the most interesting and engaging way possible.”
Daniel Kleinman
Daniel “Danny” Kleinman is recognised as one of advertising’s most established directors. He has won the top awards for his advertising work at Cannes, D&AD, the New York One Show, British Arrows, Clio, Creative Circle, Midsummer Awards and many others. The Gunn Report acknowledged him as the Most Awarded Director in the world and he has received the President’s Award from Creative Circle and the Chairman’s Award at the British Arrows. He’s also topped the Campaign, Shots and Televisual’s lists of hottest directors and in Ad week, was voted US Commercial Director of the decade. After Hornsey Art School, Daniel went on to work as an illustrator, also collaborating on storyboards with directors working in the emerging music video industry leading to his first music video in 1983. Daniel pioneered the use of special effects in post-production over the course of directing more than 100 videos in the 80s winning numerous awards for work with artists such as ZZ Top, Fleetwood Mac, Prince, and Madonna. From the 90s Daniel has concentrated on advertising. He has not only created ads needing complex special effects for clients such as Guinness, X-Box, Chrysler, Johnnie Walker, Sony and Audi but his ability to also direct comedy and dialogue has led to work for Boddingtons, John Smiths, Super Noodles, Durex and John West. His recent work includes Audi, Lexus, Snickers, Crunchy Nut, Galaxy, Coors Light and Budweiser. Daniel has also directed TV drama and comedies notably Harry Enfield and Paul Whitehouse’s “Smashie & Nicey - The End Of An Era”, which was BAFTA nominated and won the rose at Montreux. He has also taken over the mantle of James Bond titles designer from Maurice Binder, creating iconic title sequences for 7 of the last 8 films. In 2006 Daniel and fellow director Ringan Ledwidge founded Rattling Stick. In 2012, the company was awarded UK’s No1 Production Company at the British Arrows for the fourth time in five years, in 2013 Rattling Stick was named Best Production Company of the Year in Campaign magazine for the third time and by the end of 2015 ranked 1st in the Televisual Peer poll for the 5th year in a row.
