История | Between 2007 and 2014, 30% of Africa’s elephants were wiped out, largely due to poaching for ivory. This is a story about how the NGO WildAid and a creative agency brought about legislation to end the multi-billion dollar ivory trade. By raising awareness of the elephant’s plight and getting hundreds of conservation and wildlife NGOs as well as the public to join the cause, the ivory trade was put on top of the CITES 2016 agenda. As a result four separate UN resolutions were passed committing member states to banning domestic ivory sales. |
